In this episode Bou and I rap about the “Gig Life”. All the ins-and-outs gigging through your local town is surely an adventure for a local upcoming band. This episode is all about the gigs that every band goes through. We call it “The Grind”
As a band you always want to play the best go possible. It’s every musicians dream. So Bou chats about our early days in Taking Saturn. Our small town had a local rock night club called Jaxx. Many national acts would stop and rock this place. We chat about the bands that played through there in the mid-2000’s. Jaxx Night Club (now closed) was a legendary local bar/club that every local band wanted to play.
“It taught us how to play at a professional level..” Clubs like these are amazing and of course-times have changed.
Bou also talks about how gigs have changed and the audience has also shifted in terms of attention and the willing to to go out and see live bands as well as music styles. I also chat a little about my first experiences playing first gigs and starting out from Coffee houses, parties and high schools. We announce a small show on Saturday, February 23, 2019. A small party gig to kick off the year.

Happy Holidays Everyone! It's the Taking Saturn Yearly Wrap up and Bobbi and I chat on this crazy 2018. Every year we’ll be doing a TS Yearly Wrap Up on how our year went as a band. We go over the good and the bad and things to look forward to in the New Year.
I start off by talking a little about how I moved back to DC a year ago. The jams Bou and I had in order to set the stage for the reuniting of Taking Saturn. I rap about our adventures learning new songs and covers and how the Winter of 2017 was very different from this one.
Bobbi then helps me remember how we started auditioning drummers, meeting, our then drummer, Justin Wilson, and how we decorated our new band room.
We also go deep on how much it took the band to overcome life obstacles and how this actually has made the band a “band family” which we always were.
I also talk about our Fall Weekly Promotional launch with Bobbi’s Monday blog, Danny’s on-the-fly guitar lessons he offers on #wisdomwednesdays and Bou’s nostalgic #throwbackthursdays.
Thank you for listening everyone. It’s a great yearly wrap up! See you next year!!

Episode 10: Is Mainstream Rock Dead? Asleep? Waiting For a Comeback?
Happy Turkey Day everyone!
In this episode Bou and I talk about something we’ve been wondering for a very long time. Is Mainstream Rock Dead? Bou defends his point on how Rock is still going string and me… meh not so much haha
We talk about bands that are still going strong like Foo Fighters and Disturbed. I go back to my days of listening to the first rock band. And argue that Rock needs something new.
So whats the conclusion? Is rock music dying? dead? asleep? This epode was tons of fun.
